Ratanakiri, located in the far northeast of Cambodia, shares borders with Vietnam and Laos. This province is approximately 600 kilometers from the capital Phnom Penh, accessible by bus via Kampong Cham and Kratie.
Banlung is also the gateway to Virachey National Park, a true sanctuary for nature lovers and trekkers.

At 47, Smey is a self-taught man whose excellent level of English allows him to offer his services as a tour guide and, above all, to teach the language.
To support his family and finance his educational project, he rents bungalows and organizes treks.
He offers free English lessons to 60 children aged 11 to 17, divided into three one-hour groups, in a semi-open, poorly equipped and unsuitable space. Smey is deeply committed and motivated to support his community: I am convinced that every child, regardless of their social background, should have access to a quality education! »
In his approach, Smey considers it essential that access to education should be free, with English as a crucial subject.
Through this project, he hopes to welcome a larger number of students and offer more teaching hours. Learning English opens children up to the world and gives them access to jobs requiring this language, particularly in the tourism sector, which Cambodia is striving to develop.

Smey is a passionate man about his country, committed to its youth with a contagious energy, will and determination that draws everyone he meets into this crucial project for the future of children in the isolated and underdeveloped region of Ratanakiri.

Let's support the construction of his school!
After the construction of the school, SEAJA will support Smey in the development of its tourism business, a key lever to ensure its financial autonomy.
SEAJA intends to finance the teachers' salaries, the first year of the school's start-up, and will support Smey in the continued development of the school.
To complete this project: $35,000
Transform these outdoor classrooms into a real school!
The visit from SEAJA scheduled for next June should allow this project to be definitively qualified.
