En février dernier, nous étions avec Christophe à l’orphelinat de Kampong Thom pour évaluer les besoins et élaborer un plan d’action pour 2026.
Le travail à accomplir est immense !
To do this, we organised a workshop with the senior citizens' group, with whom we could communicate directly in English.
We really enjoyed it; we organized it as a game, dividing them into two groups. The day before, we attended an English lesson to learn from the local teacher's method: we find it easier with the football workshops…
The children are shy, and the main objective was of course to establish a genuine connection, while gathering their needs and wishes for their daily lives and their future.
Among the points discussed, we were surprised to see that the girls quickly mentioned a bathroom for the boys.
Of course, this could lead to some unflattering jokes about them, but what really catches our attention is that we would never have imagined that such a basic facility was lacking for the boys at the orphanage.
Après la rénovation de l’escalier du dortoir et l’installation de l’électricité chez les filles, SEAJA est très fière d’avoir démontré rapidement que ses engagements seraient tenus avec efficacité : en reconstruisant la fosse septique et en aménageant une salle de bain digne de ce nom.
Promis, on teste la salle de bain en juin, puis on s’attaque à la cuisine, se laver c’est important, manger chaud l’est tout autant ! Ces travaux sont possibles grâce à vos dons…
